Vampire Weekend

wearing: jacket; ELLE / shirt; AMERICAN APPAREL / skirt; F21 / shoes; CONVERSE

Today, I wore my Vampire Weekend t-shirt and I felt cool. When I got the shirt in the mail, I was so excited I actually squealed. I don't usually do that (no matter what my sister says). I had more pictures displaying the shirt and all, but the sun was quite bright and the glare didn't look so great in the pictures. I'm happy with these, though. Well, that's all for now folks! Have a good evening, day, morning... you get my drift.

That #Secondhand Chick

I've always loved second hand stores; my mom used to take my siblings and I and I would have a blast trying things on and digging through the toy pile. I went to try my hand last week and came up with some awesome boots, a wool skirt and a navy blue cotton top. The look is so 90's and I just loved the price of these 3 items since it was a few cents under $10. I think I have to go back and get myself a tea set and cross another item off my wish list.

my first band tee

I am so in love with my new Vampire Weekend band tee!  I saw this shirt on Polyvore and loved the flower print on the shirt. I didn't pay much attention to what it was exactly, but I searched the shirt in different links and then I went to and found it there! I got it for a few bucks less than the original price and I just got it today. I am so stoked; I can't wait to style it!

we don't know where we're going

My sister calls me a hipster.  Personally, I don't think I'm a hipster. I search blogs, follow trends but I mostly will follow and try only one or two trends and will actually stick with them.

One thing for sure is that I love my boots! I bought these at the local secondhand shop and they were only about $4! The style is very 90's and the heel is small. I was prepared to go to Nordstrom and buy a pair of Dolce Vita boots, but I think I'm okay for a while.

Layering is key for this weather, so with my boots I wore my Old Navy Blue Stripped Skirt and my favorite and amazingly soft and sturdy Hollister Hoodie. To top it all off I wore my Old Navy Jean Vest and my Violet Boutique beanie.  The outcome was very warm and San Francisco weather.

a little insight

Growing up is simply unavoidable. I remember when I was a silly (sillier than I am now) little girl and I wanted to grow up.. I thought that if I were a grown up, I'd have what I needed. I'd have no need. I'd have those clothes I so wanted, those cute heels, those handsome men after me... I was very naive and quite vain not to mention I was very blind and deaf to the words my mother always told me.

I won't really get into that but I guess these hard work-filled days have really made me really realize that I don't want to be here, in customer service for all of eternity. I want to work in a big retail store, a small family owned shop, a bookstore... I want to have different experiences, live in a small apartment by myself, sell some of my photography online, reach 1k followers on instagram, get more involved with my readers.

I guess I want a lot, but isn't that the point? To dream and make that dream a reality? So I won't discourage anyone, just be mindful of what you do; use your time wisely because you never know, you might just get your break. Dream big and go out and try and achieve it. One day at a time.

with a hint of color

Lately, I've been wearing a lot of my button downs and my ankle boots. I guess I feel more relaxed and confident in them.

This outfit post is a little late (I wore this on Sunday), but I just love the look of it that I decided to post it up anyways.

The thing I love about button downs, jean button downs at that, is that you can either tuck them in or not and they still give you an cool and collected effect.

The skirt I bought at H&M  while back but couldn't find an instance to wear it in. So for Pastor's day this is what I wore. The sequins in the skirt make up the dressy part and the thread bare jean button down gives it the cool and collected vibe. My ankle boots makes it seem like I tried, but not that hard as wearing high heels would imply.

You gatta look cute but still be comfortable, right? Have a good one everyone!

Pastor's Day

Sunday was Pastor's Day in my church and like always, I had to take a few pictures of my own to share on my Facebook. I took a few pictures, but the lighting was so bad almost all of the pictures were yellow in tint. I tried my best to change the white balance but it wasn't possible on many of the pictures. But I'm glad that I was able to attend Pastor's Day because it was real nice and the cookies and pastries and such were amazing!  Well, have a good day everyone!

two sides of me

Bet you guys were hoping to see something completely weird, huh!? Well, sorry to disappoint. It's just me today. I was supposed to upload some pictures I took yesterday, but I'm too lazy to do that today. I think I'll do that tomorrow. Have a good day everyone!

just for you

Sometimes something unexpected and small is what a person doesn't know they need. I received a CD in the mail from my friend up in Fort Bragg and it was a really nice gesture so to say thanks, I am sending her this little thank you card and alongside a few of my photography prints. It may not be much, but it's sent with a lot of love. A few people call me super sweet, I just say I'm affectionate. ;)

Queen of Awkward

Today I felt confident. It felt great actually. Wearing blue, my ankle boots and a full skirt dress makes a girl feel warm and bubbly. Well, it does to me anyways.

This outfit made me feel more confident and one thing I realized was that a girl can turn heads while not showing an obscene amount of skin.

I walked straight, headphones in my ears, a spring in my step and a polite word on my lips. That cause so many people to do a double take and look at me. I'm not trying to be vain or anything, but when I feel confident, I feel like I can take on everything and anything.

some more items on Poshmark

Hi everyone! I hope every one is having a good day. And if they aren't well, I hope that it gets better. I just wanted to do another Shameless Self-Promo post for my Poshmark items I'm selling. I have some stuff that's practically new and I just need it to go to another person who will love it as much as I did.

As I've said before and as I've posted on my Poshmark Closet, I do great discounts but I don't take Paypal and I don't trade my items. I find that this way, the transactions are made efficiently and with no muck-ups and the likes. So come on over and see what I have. The good thing about my Closet is that I have varying sizes. My sister has grown out of some of her clothes and she just gives it to me so someone else can buy it. The sizes run from (some) Small to XLarge.

So go on over, check out my stuff. Leave me a comment if you already have a profile and I would be gladly to share your items so that they have a higher viewing rate!

"young, but I'm not that bold"

It's sweater weather! Well, it's almost always sweater weather here in the Bay Area, so I have a whole bunch of pull overs and the likes, but I just thought that since I'm kinda sharing more clothes with my sister every day, that buying a few more sweaters would be prudent. And luckily I found this set of three American Eagle Outfitters for only $18 (plus shipping, of course). I didn't have to pay a dime out of my pocket since I had sold some items on Poshmark and I used my credit towards this purchase.

I just love how you can layer these sweaters. Layer is something I do very often no matter the weather but fall is just one of my favorite seasons. It's when it's windy, the days are still bright but the leaves are changing colors and the lazy days are spent drinking warm drinks and hanging with family. I didn't get to do much of that last year, but hopefully, I get to do more of that this year.

App Review: Posmark

Another iPhone App Review; And this time, it's for Poshmark! Many of my friends look at me weird when I say Poshmark. But the thing is that I just love that app and I say it all the time.  is a great place to sell clothes you don't want or that you don't need anymore. Granted, you don't sell clothes that are down right old and moldy, but this place is amazing when you get the hang of it.

The pros:
- you don't have to worry about a shipping label or fee, poshmark gets a percentage off of your earnings for that
- you can share as many times as you want
- there are "parties" where there are many more people who don't follow you and get to see your listing (which gives you a whole lot more exposure and a higher chance for your item to sell)
- you can negotiate a price if you really want it and if the seller agrees.
- it's a cheaper way to stay fashionable
- once you sell and receive your money, you can use it straight to another purchase and not feel guilty for shopping.

The cons:
- the first sale might not be right away
- buyers are going to try and get the lowest price available
- there will be scammers
- this app is only for iPhones
- this app is only available in the USA
- you have to get your own boxes and printing supplies (for the labels)

Overall, I like this app. It makes it a fun and easy experience to sell my items and get some in return without really spending a dime.

Well, I hope you liked this review and give Poshmark a chance if you have an iPhone. have a great day everyone!

the princess and the balloons

Little girls in princess dresses and colorful balloons make want to be little again. My cousin's cousin was turning 6 yesterday and I asked her if I could take a few snaps of her. She smiled hesitantly and nodded. Next thing you know she was smiling her little smile and telling me where next she wanted to take a picture. These are some of the few pictures I took of her and I like how these pictures portray the whimsical and childlike feel the evening had.

App Review: Over

Hello everyone! I just wanted to do this quick review on the app Over. I use this app so much it's kind of ridiculous. Currently I'm using it in my October Photo Challenge pictures. There are free fonts and free art you can put in your pictures as well. I've bought the rest of the fonts and downloaded the free art packages they feature (which you can just tap on and they will download automatically).

What I like about it is that it's easy to use; you can make the text small by hand or by tapping the + or - sign, it gives you pretty good free fonts, it gives you options on where you want to share it to or if you want to save it on your photo stream. All in all, this app is worth the $1.99. I really recommend this app. I use it to make Happy Birthday pictures for my friends and I can add a bit of tint so that the letters can pop out a bit. And if you want the opposite, the letters to be a bit transparent, then you can do that too. Change the color, add more space to the letters (like I did above in 'PHOTOGRAPHY') or put space in between the lines. Do what you will, but this app is awesome! Hope that you've found this review helpful.

I'm twisting this challenge to fit my life style and editing them with writing as well.  I said that I was going to write a review and/or review them and I will do that soon! fall is here, apperently

sweater & skirt; OLD NAVY / ankle bots; APRI
FOLLOW YOUR HEART.  I walked into Old Navy a few days ago and I wasn't going to buy anything, but then I saw these items and couldn't resist trying them on. It's safe to say that I came home with two new items and a smile on my face. I also got it because I just love what it said.
Follow your heart to me means following your gut, your passion, being satisfied in what you do. For me, what makes me happy, is blogging, taking pictures, working and being with my family alongside long walks and hanging out with friends. So that's why I bought this pullover. Because I want to remind myself and others to follow their heart, their dreams and that that in itself will make them happier.  Well, that's all for my rambling. Have a good night.

starbucks and the phone case (Hello October!)

Fall is here! And I can't be any more happy about it! The leaves are changing colors and I find myself wearing more and more sweaters not to mention drinking Starbucks quite a bit.  Along with Fall, I have discovered a new favorite blog of mine. The blogger, Alejandra Pasillas author of Kick Rocks, is very much my kind of gal! She is casual yet collected in her style and has a great photography page on Facebook.   Well, that's al for now! I have to get ready for work. Have a very good week everyone!
