question of the day: to buy, or not to buy

picture via polyvore

To buy or not to buy, that is the question.  No, seriosuly, that's the question. And if the answer is yes, then I'm thinking, "what do I buy?" Because I'm trying not to splurge here! Heck, I'm even taking my own lunch and the likes to work so that I don't spend $10 a day. But, seriously, there's a few items I'm really considering to buy.

that would be: a coat, ankle boots (yes, another pair), walking shoes, some Hudson jeans (or something similar maybe some Paige jeans?), and this one skirt I saw at The Rack... and some shirts. I need shirts.

So... do I buy some items such as a watch, ankle boots, a day dress, sneakers, and a coat? Did I mention I get a discount on this purchase? Because I do! lol, I'll just ponder it some more. I have until this Friday, so let's home I have some items to show everyone.

wearing : sick, not fashion-less

cardigan; FOREVER 21 / dress; UNKNOWN / bag; RALPH LAUREN / boots; H&M

Well, I'm usually fashion-less, but that's beside the point. I went out to lunch with my sister and my dad yesterday and after my dad decided to go buy some shirts and things. I wasn't feeling that great, my throat (still) feels like it's burning. But I must say I think I looked cute, sore throat and all! I swear I love my H&M boots! This was the second day in a row that I wore them and I was as happy as could be. >.<

wearing : to the kiddy party we go!

shirt, dress, underskirt; FOREVER 21 / ankle boots; H&M DIVIDED

As you can tell, I went to a kid party and you better believe I had fun! This is almost my last weekend off and I'm trying to make the best of it. Anyways, on to the outfit: The actual clothes is all form Forever 21 and the ankle boots are from H&M. They're so comfortable and they're my statement boot. Hope everyone had a great weekend (don't worry, the weekend will soon be here soon!).

lately : the week thus far

picture taken by me; Chinatown, San Francisco, CA.

I'm quite happy. No, you don't understand the extremity of this statement; I am happy.

This past weekend I went to Santa Rosa and spent the two days in blissful harmony and laughter with my cousins and sister. The nights were spent with laughter and it felt amazing. Being able to just relax without work on my mind was a big blessing. And work? That's going great! I'm getting along with my coworkers and I'm learning new things everyday. It's quite an experience and in so very glad that I made the decision to leave my other job for this one. One thing that I'm seeing a change is myself. I'm growing and I'm so very happy. February has been good to me thus far and I can't wait until next month. I'm happy an I hope that everyone else is too.

in my closet : new balance

sneakers; New Balance; $60.49 (with employee discount)

I just couldn't resist these sneakers after walking around putting shoes out.  Yesterday was my first day on the job and I have to say it was grueling, but fun. The people are fun and friendly and that makes the process of putting (such beautiful) shoes away. I handled, hundreds of shoes yesterday, and I don't mean that as a understatement or dramatic effect either. Being on my feet doesn't bother me, but it does bother my feet, so I bought these awesome New Balance sneakers and applied my 20% discount on the purchase. I just love these shoes, I'm hoping to buy another pair. The question is, do I get bright neon or a simple and classic black/grey?

I learned the hard way

picture taken in Alameda, CA while waiting to cross the bridge

Something no one tells you when you're young or just in general is how incredibly expensive hotel stays are.  As I've mentioned before, I'm going to NYC this summer with my sister, but one thing we just can't find is a hotel. All of the hotels are so expensive. The worst part about it is that they're so far away from the tourism sites that it would put me in debt if I chose to ride a cab everywhere. As a college student (no matter if I'm taking the semester off) it's real expensive for me, mostly since I'm paying for everything myself. I've looked into some bed and breakfasts but they all share a bathroom. I mean, I'm okay with that once in a while, but... Not all the time. Ugh. I guess I have to keep searching. I have to find someplace real quick too. The closer the date gets, the more they charge!

Another thing they don't tell you (or I simply just either didn't listen or tuned them out) are how much they take out of your taxes. It's kinda ridiculous. I just hope I don't have to pay this year, like last year. Anyways, I still have to check out places to stay and make sure they aren't too far away from all of the tourism sites. Wish me luck!

Hello San Francisco, Meet Comfort

jacket; H&M / t-shirt; HOLLISTER / skirt; F21 / boots; APRI / bag; RALPH LAUREN

I went to San Francisco today with my sister so they could hem her prom dress at Nordstrom and I just couldn't resist taking a picture... or two.  The lighting was perfect, the mirrors were beautiful and I felt oh, so cute. One of my goals this year was to look good at least once or twice a week. Do my hair (not my usual ponytail or bun, either) and dress in a comfortable or just "cuter" way. Since leaving my other job at Rite Aid I've felt very happy. Granted, it's only been about half a week or so, but I've felt freer than I had in a very long time. Weird, huh? Anyways, I felt comfortable, cute and I actually did my hair, so today was a win-win for me. I hope everyone had a good day!

lately : cleaning, cleaning, and more cleaning

picture taken on our way back from San Diego, CA almost 2 years ago.
It's been raining all weekend and I've been cooped up cleaning. (you can see the progress of my closet here).  I have to post some items on my Poshmark, so be sure to check those out! I'm giving away some items with a purchase of any amount. I'm also looking into places to stay in New York for my stay this summer. I've come up with nothing since they're all expensive as heck! Anyways, I better get to my own laptop I'm usuing my sister's, mine isn't working properly lately). Have a good night/day!

lately

picture taken a few days ago in San Francisco

So... A lot has been happening lately. From a new job, to me trying to relax and be more creative, to planning a trip to New York. I went to the orientation today for my new job and the people and managers were all very friendly. It was such energizing environment. But I think this year will be better. As I said in my previous post (here) I want to enjoy my life and starting with little things it makes everything even better.

On another note; I'm supposed to buy the tickets for New York by the end of this week. I'm very happy, I must say. Everything looks bright and spectacular. Let's just hope it stays that way!

goals of 2014

image via polyvore

Okay, so I'll start by saying this: I will do my best not to get stuck this year. But I make no promises. Here are a few of my goals for this year. I'm not making resolutions, I never really made any, so I don't want to start now. Anyways, on to my goals for my life in general.

  1. Travel. I want to travel. I know everyone says this, and it's a common thing, but I actually want to do this. At the moment, I'm looking into buying tickets to go to New York City. I want to go in the summer with my sister and I will be going. I want to go to Disneyland again, take a guided tour through London and Paris (I've seen some great packages on Groupon and I'm hoping that's in store for next year!) I want to do all sorts of things now since I have little responsibilities. Gatta enjoy life to the fullest, don't I?
  2. Grow. I really like what that graphic says; "Grow where you are planted". I want to know where I live. Walk around, take different pictures, explore California and what it has to give. Be grateful for what I've got and enjoy it. (That brings the saying "have your cake and eat it too"). I want to grow into a proud Californian.
  3. Go out. And I don't mean shopping (although, let's face it, I will shop). I mean do fun things. Go bowling more often with friends, take a picnic with family or friends, one thing that I really want to do is go to a "movie at the park" kinda date. For me, that would be amazing.
  4. Be confident. Not just that, but be confident everywhere. Know my strengths and my weaknesses.
  5. Document life. Have camera ready at almost every corner. Not only that, but also know when to jump in and not let life slip me by.
  6. More me time. This doesn't mean being by myself per say. It just means more time to process what I'm doing and plan out things more but have a time period where I can do what I want.
  7. Gardening. If I can't have a small garden, maybe a potted plant or have more live flowers in the house.
  8. Organize. I have to organize my schedule, closet, time, hobbies and the likes. Keep a one track mind. Sometimes that can work wonders.
  9. Fall in love. Not with a person (although, that wouldn't be so bad, would it?) but with things and hobbies.
  10. Be Optimistic.  Be a lighter soul, think positive, do things I love more, not limit myself, not be scared to be me.
