lately : in the sheets

LAUREN by RALPH LAUREN pink sheets; $50 @ TJ MAXX / pillow cases; 99 cents a piece @ THRIFT TOWN

lately : after cleaning on my days off I've come to the conclusion that I'd like to do more DIY in my room.

With that in mind I bought a plain white sheet and some pillowcases at the secondhand store and saved a whole lot of money! My pink sheets are Lauren by Ralph Lauren but I wanted to have something else as well. I started pinning and I found this awesome picture of confetti sheets. I lost the link but I loved it! I just have to buy some pain and get to working. Another think I have to buy is a long mirror. It gets real hard just having a mirror and not being able to see how you look as a whole. Other than that I think I've established my color scheme. So far, everything is going great and in about two and a half weeks time, I'll be off to New York with my sister! Have a great day everyone!

just some of my books

A Beautiful Mess Photo Idea Book, Blogging for Creatives, Marie Claire Jan-May 2014 issues, My So Called Freelance Life, Sassy, Single and Satisfied a devotional , Live More, Want Less, Very Classy, The Little Dictionary of Fashion, The Lucky One, The Notebook, The Wedding

"Books are proof that humans can work magic." I really like that saying and it's completely true. I love fiction books. Twilight, Harry Potter, The Notebook, those are all enthralling books and one thing I love about them is the connection I feel to the book, the words written on the page. It's all very moving and it takes me to a whole other place. It's just magical. But I digress, I love books and so I decided to put some of my books out on display and more visible to me so that I can re-read them again. I was rearranging my room and I decided to put these out. Most of these I've bought from +Amazon.com  and I'm a subscriber for Marie Claire. I'm cleaning out my room and I thought that it would be nice to show some of my many favorite books. Well, until later!

lately : little bit of change

lately : I've been cleaning. None stop (okay, so I've stopped, but I have to since I have to keep my energy up) and I must say that I am quite proud of my results.

I put up some of my magazines, I put the new sheets I bought and I Swiffered everything up and it's dustless! I feel accomplished! These are just a preview of my room. I still need to buy some curtains and I want to paint my walls. That's why the walls are almost bare... But I digress. I am loving my room at the moment. A small living space (or a shared room) doesn't need to be dreary. On the contrary! Make it light and fun!

envelope #DIY

For every Poshmark sale I make I like to do a little something crafted and specially for the person buying from me.  I make hand crafted envelopes and little thank you cards for every person to show them how thankful I am that they helped me get rid of unwanted clothes. I got the templates from +Paper Source and I just love them. I make birthday cards and thank you cards and everything in-between. All you need is:

  • an envelope template ( or this template to make small one like the ones in the picture)
  • scissors
  • washi tape or any kind of adhesive; double sided tape works as well
  • decorative paper  (or gift wrap like I used)
TADA! You're done! Something simple that people will smile about. And that's the small DIY that I just love and you can use in different ways!

lately : one day at a time

lately :  it feels like all I've been doing is working and sleeping. I'm going to NYC next month and I'm kinda getting nervous.

To be free of my nerves and everything I went out to take a few pictures after I left work and that made a huge difference. I feel a bit calmer now that I have a shot or two in. I'm also thinking about doing a challenge to stay inspired. I have to think a little but about that. Well, have a good day everyone.

wearing : Black Errthang

shirt ; T by ALEXANDER WANG / skirt, boots, scarf & bag; H&M

Sunday is 'Funday' so I wore all black. (That makes no sense, but meh.) I wore my faux-leather skirt and paired it with ankle booties and a cropped shirt. The outfit was seamless and comfortable. It made me feel like a million bucks. I must apologize though, for these pictures are kind of awkward and not displaying my very confidence at all. But they were the best ones out of the bunch. I barely realized that beside being all in black I was almost covered in H&M from head to toe. I guess I must shop there quite often! Talking about shopping(!) I put a few items on my Poshmark closet so check them out!
