#instantdorkoriginal photos and crafts

lately : I've been real crafty. I said that I was feeling real inspired when I came back from NYC and I wasn't kidding around! Change is coming to the blog and it's going to be amazing!

At the moment I'm in candlelight because this candle smells amazing. Got it on clearance at +T.J.Maxx too (only $3)! But enough about that, I'm talking change as in new blog name, new color pallet, more posting and this time a real giveaway. I'm also going to start selling prints and cards; all handmade (like the ones above)! So keep updated with my instagram and my facebook.

last few days in NYC

My last few days of NYC told in pictures.  It was such fun but so frustrating when the heat would get to me and get me frustrated. What I'd like to do next time is actually have someone who knows the city and explore with them. Places a New Yorker would only know. But I enjoyed myself with my sister, nonetheless. We're thinking about saving up for a trip next year as well, but this time, somewhere more tropical... Maybe Hawaii? We'll see what happens. Have a good monday everyone!

from the movies to real life

From top to bottom: Grand Central Station / Central Park Zoo / NYC Public Library / Grand Army Plaza / Rockefeller Plaza

While in NYC you have to go the tourist side, at least once. And that's what I did. I went through 5th Avenue and passed by so many different movie landmarks. From Home Alone 2, I am Legend, Madagascar, and many more. I had to stop and say where the moves where from. It was amazing! I do hope to come back and do this at least once more. Until then, see ya later NYC!

in the Lower East Side

From top to bottom: Williamsburg Bridge / Williamsburg Bridge looking towards Manhattan Bridge / Graffiti and a guy running on the Manhattan Bridge / HSBC Bank

Two bridges, one day.  Day two of staying in the Lower East Side consisted of a nap, junk food, cherries, and the Manhattan and Williamsburg Bridge. The views were spectacular and the setting sun and cool breeze made the day easier to bear. These past few days have given me a lot to think about, a whole lot and I must say that I am very grateful for my life and I expect to push myself more after this trip! Because this will not be the first time I will be in New York!

"fitting in" in elementary school

shirt; FOREVER21 / skirt; TOPSHOP / shoes and belt; H&M / bag; EXPRESS (thrifted)

This outfit was what I wore to my neice's 5th grade promotion. I thought the bright color of the skirt would be good to wear to an elemtary school and "fit in" with the kids. I loved the flow of the skirt and the color is bright and happy. Over all, I loved it. Plus, doesn't it make the crop top look more classy? And I just love how this whole outfit was about $50. Aren't bargains amazing?!

up in the air to NYC

I'm in New York. It feels so surreal. I walked by Penn Station, I went to Times Square, I took the Subway... I'm still kind of in shock and kinda tired. The weather is humid and the sun is shining it's love on the city. It's been a hot couple of days and while I'm tired and 3 hours behind in California time. Today my sister and I didn't do much but move around the city, get kinda lost (again; we got kinda lost yesterday as well, don't judge me). We took a nap since the sun tired us out and we compromised to stay in and enjoy the AC in the loft and watch movies on my laptop. I must say I kind of miss my beautiful California. Everyone speaks with a Puerto Rican accent and since I'm Mexican, it's so strange for me. What isn't strange is the pizza. I had some yesterday and I will admit that I want another slice.  Well, I better get to calling my family and letting them know I'm still alive and well.

grow where you are planted

lately : I've done a few #DIYs, I've edited a few pictures from a project I wanted to do about Oakland and I'm counting down the days to go to NYC.

It's the beginning of Summer and it feels like life is turning a new leaf. Graduations are popping left and right, people are going off to college and other off to vacations; it's a beautiful and hectic time of the year! But I find myself with almost nothing to do on my days off so I edited pictures, did simple DIYs and listened to music and drank a lot of coffee. But I'm going back to work tomorrow! But I go to New York in just a few days! It's crazy! I can't wait.

Osejo Family -- Maternity Mini-Shoot

I did my first shoot! Of course I've shot people for birthday parties before, but this was official, "I'm getting ready so you can take my pictures" kinda thing. I felt so nervous but so giddy! Once I have the family approve the images I'll post more of them up. Well, I'm off to edit! Have a good week everyone!

not so cropped cropped shirt

shirt; FOREVER 21 (under $10) / skirt; THE NORDSTROM RACK / booties; H&M

Cropped shirts aren't usually my thing, but I've learned how to dress them and which ones look pretty good on my figure. So I must say, my shirt, a deal for a little under $10 was a great purchase since I can wear it with many of my high waisted skirts. As usual, I'm a little late to the game, but aren't I always?

#instantdorkoriginal photography

Sometimes, all you need is a little bit of faith and a whole lot of determination. Today was a regular Monday. I drank coffee and surfed the web. After that I started going through all of my pictures and edited a few more from a while back and then I thought, why not?

About a week and a half ago someone from church came up to me and asked me if I could do a mini photo-shoot for her. It would be a maternity/father's day shoot. I agreed and made plans to contact her and arrange a time and place the shoot could take place. I love photography and I think that I've gotten better the more I use manual mode. I decided to take a leap of faith and post this picture on all of my social media profiles to promote my photography. Whatever happens with these Mini Sessions, I will take it as learning experience.

I'm not expecting to be rich with these, I'm just hoping to expand my circles, do what I love and work hard. But I will be honest and say that I have a good feeling for tomorrow. Well, have a good night everyone!

High School Days

shirt, bag, flats; H&M / vest and skirt; OLD NAVY

Go TIGERS! I've been going to my old high school a few times over this past month in a half and I love that I have the opportunity to take pictures in the halls. And since I knew I was going to the high school I put on my new lace shirt I bought at +H&M and I must say I love the easy going way the shirt looks. Now I'm kinda wishing I was this fashionable in high school.
