dreaming of summer

(pictures from pinterest / tumblr)

It's barely going to be February and I'm already daydreaming about summer vacations. Can you blame me? I'm excited for this year's harvest to come in from all the work I put in last year! Last year I went to New York City for a week with my sister. Some sun, shopping and tons of fun is what I'm looking for. Am I the only one dreaming of palm trees and sandy beaches early in the year?

instagram shop : ...& yeah

When I turned 24, I said that my year was going to be full of hustling. And so that's how I will spend my year. Getting things I want, working hard for them, making way for my dreams to slowly become a reality. And that's how ...& yeah came about.

I started trying to sell on Storenvy, but that didn't work quite well since I was used to just Poshmark and Instagram. While I still use Poshmark, I wanted something that gave me money stright to me. No secondaries or anything because, truthfully, I spend money like it grows on trees. When I was on my personal account on Instagram (@instantdork) I was followed by a few IG shops. I was a bit of a skeptic and didn't quite understand the process. But once I sold my second or third item, I was doing great! I knew how to package since I did it in Poshmark. It's quite simple and I enjoy it. I sell at least two items per week. I barely started this month and I've already sold 23 items. Over $150 that went straight to my account.

It might not sound like a lot of money, but this helps me a lot. And all of it is from clothes I don't use any more. How awesome is that? I've already got 500+ followers already. That almost beats my personal account! Anyone have an IG shop? If so, add me! Leave me a comment! I'd love to hear from you.

Senior Portraits : Stephanie

"A dream doesn't become reality through magic; it takes sweat, determination and hard work." -- Collin Powell

One thing I am is proud and awed by my little sister. She works so hard in school and doesn't let anything get in her way. Girl's soccer captain, editor-in-chief of the school's newspaper and above 4.0 GPA. She's my inspiration and to preserve her senior year, I'm making her a book of pictures of her senior year. I'm a proud sister, I mean, she gives me a reason to be.

feeling lovey dovey

February is around the corner! Here are a few DIYs and the links. I'm all for showing people that I love them, so this is just another excuse for me to shower them with small things I just can't resist. Links are at the bottom. Anyone else doing some DIY for Valentine's Day? I'd love to know what you guys are thinking of!

Senior Portraits: Gissell

"Beauty begins the moment you chose to be yourself." -- Coco Chanel
This year I've actually been able to capture a lot of beautiful moments, and it feels amazing. Back in November I did my cousin Jenny's Senior portraits and I also did her sister's portraits last month. This is my cousin Gissell. She's a senior in high school and a avid track runner. She's ran in her school track team and fell in love with the sport. A 3.0+ student and Homecoming queen, she can't wait to see what the future holds for her in her dream college. I'm very proud of her and wanted to show off another one of Elsie Allen's High School's students. Go Lobos!

meetings & greetings : blog friends

I haven't taken outfit pictures in a while, and this is as close as I'm going to get in a while. This past few months or so I've met a few friends old and new who blog and I'm trying hard to get out of my comfort zone and meet with others who like things that I do as well. I've met Brandy from Will Bake For Shoes , Ana from Little Big Heart and Ava from 2 eyes 4 style. I'm not making any promises to myself or others, I just want to do more this year of what makes me happy and stay active in my blog. Other than that, I'm living life one day at a time and taking things as they come.

New Years Eve at San Francisco

It's the new year and I'm still me. There's no one else I'd rather be, either since I only know how to be myself. This New Years Eve I spent it surrounded by tons of strangers, two layers on outerwear, a thick scarf and double socks. No cute outfits, sparkly shoes, selfies or cold drinks. I had a grande Pike, double socks that didn't help since I couldn't really feel my toes and tons of pictures of fireworks. I had a great time with my sister and her friend.

I started this new years eve quite different than I usually spend it, but change can prompt you to look at things differently and experience many different things. My life goal is to succeed at being happy and I think this year is going to be a roller coaster and I can't wait to see what it's first steep hill is. I hope everyone had a safe and fun New Years Eve, now, on to a fantastic new year!
